A Home for the Thobela Family

Our latest fundraising appeal’s mission is to raise funds and provide the Thobela Family with a safe, dignified, and secure home.

Who are the Thobela Family?

Gogo (grandmother) Thobela and her family are facing an incredibly challenging situation. Their housing situation reached a critical point after their home collapsed with the heavy rains in early 2023. Gogo Thobela and family had to seek temporary shelter from her neighbours. There is a pressing need for a proper and stable structure for her family to call home.

Furthermore, her eldest daughter was also forced to leave school after not being able to afford the school top-up fees and uniforms. PDI has been supporting the family with food parcels and school necessities, but a long-term solution is required.

What is the goal?

Our goal is to provide them with a suitable home, ideally a two-room house that will make an enormous difference in their lives. The estimated costs for constructing a one or two-room house in Eswatini is around 3550 and 5700 AUD, respectively.

What can you do?

By making a donation, you will be giving this family a chance at a brighter future, enabling the children to continue their education and providing them with the stability and security they deserve.
